Using the GRASPion® we are able to create and study synthetic tissue of over 60 soft particles. We demonstrate that the tissue undergoes a phase transition from a gas, to a solid and finally a liquid phase, as seen in the videos.

Synthetic cell in ratchet

By putting a synthetic cell with a GRASPion® in an asymmetric channel, we demonstrate that its motion becomes directed towards a single direction, i.e. it undergoes rectification, similar to what is observed with biological cells.
